Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Location: London
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits Package (Including Enhanced Pension and Equity Options)
We are also considering this role on a Fractional Basis.
 
Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team. The COO will play a vital role in optimizing our scientific operations, implementing our business strategy, and collaborating with our longevity clinic to bring anti-aging research into practice. This role requires a strong scientific background, leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.
 
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with our mission and long-term vision.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on growth strategies to drive scientific innovation.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders and research institutions.

2. Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee research, development, supply chain management, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement SOPs and best practices to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Streamline workflows to enhance scientific output quality and speed.

3. Project Management:

  • Align operational activities with scientific milestones and business objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
  • Support grant and funding submissions, ensuring strategic alignment.

4. Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of scientists and operational staff, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
  • Cultivate a work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

5. Longevity Clinic Collaboration:

  • Partner with our longevity clinic to translate research into anti-aging treatments.
  • Oversee the development of new protocols and therapies to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Ensure clinic operations align with scientific advancements and company goals.

6. Financial and Resource Management:

  • Collaborate with the CFO to manage budgets and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.

 
Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in a scientific discipline (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, engineering).
  • Minimum 5 years of senior operations management experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading complex projects.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
