Nuclera is a venture-backed, founder-driven biotech company headquartered in Cambridge, UK with significant operations in Boston, USA. The company’s mission is to improve human health by making proteins accessible. We are beginning this mission through the launch of our eProtein Discovery™ platform. eProtein Discovery is a breakthrough protein expression, characterization, and purification technology, consisting of a lab-based benchtop instrument, cloud-based software and proprietary cartridges and consumables. The goal is to enable rapid protein access to life science researchers around the world.
 
Nuclera has significant manufacturing operations for eProtein Discovery cartridges, instruments and reagents, as well as international shipping requirements for the product. Quality is paramount from incoming materials for manufacture all the way through to on time delivery of the product to customers. We are looking for an experienced Quality and Supply Chain Director to lead the continuous improvement of these functions. This is a critical role that is expected to have wide reaching scope and impact across the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality and supply chain management within the life sciences or a related industry.
 
About the role

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Overseeing quality assurance processes for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products
  • Developing and executing supply chain strategies to support growth and operational goals
  • Managing relationships with suppliers, third-party logistics providers, and partners to ensure reliable supply and distribution.
  • Overseeing procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services
  • Working closely with the Business Systems team to increase efficiency of our IFS ERP system relating to supply chain and quality.
  • Leading regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with global industry standards and government regulations, including in new sales territories.
  • Lead development of a quality-centric culture across the company through personal example, advocacy, training and mentoring.

 
Requirements
Essential:

  • 8+ years experience in supply chain operations and quality management
  • 5+ years within a manufacturing organisation
  • In depth knowledge of quality management principles and best in class practices.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end supply chain logistics, procurement, warehousing, and distribution
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the company

 
Desirable:

  • Experience driving an organisation through ISO 9001 accreditation.
  • Experience at an organisation during significant scaling of demand
  • Master’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field
  • Experience in the life sciences or a related field
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
