We are excited to partner with a venture-backed start-up based in Witney, Oxfordshire, looking to revolutionise and solve the weight loss issue worldwide affecting nearly 2 billion people. Currently working on a product, going into phase III clinical trials, based on their proprietary hydrogel technology.
 
They are looking for an open, energetic, youthful, Manufacturing Technician to expand their team. You’d be reporting to the Supervisor and working closely in a highly collaborative team with lots of opportunities to learning in a truly positive team culture. This is a critical role focusing on supporting the production of their ground-breaking technology.
 
Full training and support would be provided hence whether you have prior experience or not, does not necessarily matter. This role and team are all about personality, going above and beyond and truly believing in their mission.
 
Responsibilities in this role:

  • Production of prototypes, pre-clinical and clinical trial products for development projects in an ISO 8 cleanroom facility. Manufacturing batches to time and GMP standards.
  • Performance and product testing for existing and new products.
  • Calibration, and cleaning of facility equipment.
  • Cleaning and assisting with environmental monitoring of the cleanroom facility.
  • General housekeeping of the stores area.
  • Undertaking weekly stock checks of consumables.
  • Completing and updating quality records and following the documented quality management system.
  • Contributing to continual improvement activities such as process optimisation, risk management, and waste reduction.
  • All other necessary tasks, as required by the company.

 
Skills & experience:
As mentioned, the most important factor is attitude and cultural fi, however, the following would be the main experience & skills that would benefit a candidate greatly going into this role:

  • Competent in basic laboratory techniques e.g. use of an analytical balance, use of pipettes, and good laboratory practice.
  • Competent in following and adhering to work instructions, SOP’s and study protocols.
  • Experienced in the utilisation of computer software to manage data and documentation.
  • Can take individual responsibility and work independently for assigned work.
  • Disciplined in adhering to group objectives.
  • Makes effective use of time by effective planning in coordination with time scales defined by the project team/ direct line manager.
  • A good team player, who is proactive and recognizes opportunities for improvement.
  • Can communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of working in a cleanroom and use of aseptic techniques may be an advantage, but full training will be provided if needed.

  • Salary: of £25K to a max of £30K.
