Our client is solving the biggest threat humanity ever faced, Climate Change. With the ambitious goal to remove a billion tons of CO2 by 2050, the companies’ purpose is to scale-up, industrialise & launch the lowest energy consumption, scalable, Direct Air Capture technology. Today’s processes consume unsustainable quantities of energy, land or water if deployed at the required scale. Our client is solving this. The technology is based on a novel integration of two CO2 desorption technologies, which the company to undercut the thermodynamic & kinetic limits of existing processes.

About the role

  • Lead pilot unit project management (planning, budget) for a commissioning in summer next year. It involves:
    • The definition of project development strategy
    • The management of internal & external resources (engineering services, equipment suppliers…)
  • Perform FEED study for pilot (production of PFD, P&ID, pilot sketch, equipment nomenclature…)
  • Define equipment specifications, send inquiry to suppliers & manage the equipment supply (including contract management) with respect to budget, timeline & performances.
  • Manage external engineering contractors for the pilot assembly
  • Lead the development of the model in collaboration with the R&D team (including transfer to dedicated process software – e.g. AspenPlus)
  • Contribute to the process scale-up strategy (taking inputs from the R&D team & providing directions for R&D developments) & secure technico-economic assessment at industrial scale

 
Skills & experiences

  • 4-8 years’ experience in chemical process engineering &/or engineering project management
  • Proven track record in successful pilot or industrial project management (planning & budget)
  • Experience in the full cycle of a pilot or plant project (process design, supplier management, contract management, pilot erection, delivery, commissioning, …)
  • Experience designing, running, & supporting research scale, pilots &/or commercial plants.
  • Demonstrable understanding of hazard & risk identification (experience in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA & FMEA).
  • Demonstrated experience working with electrodialysis / electrolytic processes &/or absorption, scrubbing, continuous gas-liquid systems, compression, liquefaction.
  • Ability to both lead & work within teams.
  • Flexibility on type of duties to be performed & capacity to multitask on different topics.
  • English proficiency
