Role: Lead Software Developer
Location: Edinburgh

CT19 are working with a growing biotech company in Edinburgh, enabling cell therapy manufacturing at scale by revealing novel insights into our client’s bioprocesses. Using a revolutionary spectroscopy technique to create an impartial & holistic cell analysis technology, ranging from microchip integrated sensors to powerful analytics.
  
As Lead Software Developer, you will work with a multi-function team and external contractors to develop the software that controls the Company’s’ instrument & allows users to interrogate captured data.
  
Responsibilities:

  • Planning, developing, implementing, and testing software
  • Working to regulatory standards throughout the software development life cycle (ISO9001, 21 CFR part 11).
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Performing code reviews
  • Managing relationships with external contractors
  • Working as part of a highly multi-disciplinary design team within the Agile SCRUM framework
  • Working with the Head of Product Management to grow a software engineering team
  • Mentoring the software engineering team
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and guidelines, together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Engaging with the company’s appraisal process, and demonstrate commitment to our values, behaviours and your continuous personal development.
  • Performing other reasonable duties and/or projects as directed by your line manager.

  
Knowledge & Experiences:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field & Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
  • Proficient in C#, C++ & Python
  • Proficient with WPF
  • Proficient with version control software
  • Good verbal and written communication skills & experience in growing and mentoring a small software engineering team

  
Desirable:

  • Experience with the MVVM design philosophy, such as PRISM
  • Experience with packaging software for deployment, such as MSI/Wix
  • Experience with implementing databases
  • Experience distributing software to a Linux environment Experience with managing external contractors
  • Experience in working to regulatory standards such as ISO9001
  • Experience in working within the Agile SCRUM framework
