Nuclera is a rapidly scaling biotechnology company developing the world’s first Desktop Bioprinter. Our mission is clear: to provide high quality genes and proteins at the desktop to bring rapid prototyping to the life sciences. We are looking for a dynamic Senior Software Engineer to join the software engineering effort at Nuclera. You will be responsible for full stack development of the cloud applications suite. With the engineering division having doubled in the past year, your skills and expertise will be vital to keep pace with our ambitious product development roadmap.
You will:

  • Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
  • Develop new features and infrastructure development in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements
  • Assume leadership of new projects from conceptualization to deployment
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
  • Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
  • Contribute your views and recommendations into high-level technical discussions, supporting management roles

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ industrial software development experience
  • 2+ years years of experience building large-scale web applications
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of Java, React, Java/TypeScript
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • Unit/integration testing experience
  • Demonstrable curiosity and ability to work across the stack with a mix of languages and tools
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles
  • Knowledge of best engineering practices and continuous delivery
  • Evidence of successful delivery in large or complex software projects
  • The temperament to thrive in an interdisciplinary environment where we solve hard problems and move quickly; it’s important you’re comfortable working with a degree of uncertainty, knowing that not everything you try will be successful
