Our client is Nexeon who specialise in the latest cutting-edge battery materials and technologies working with product OEMs and battery companies to deliver more efficient, more powerful and longer-lasting batteries. They are looking for the next Procurement Assistant to help execute operational procurement according to company procedures and help support the end to end procurement process. Including the maintenance of procurement strategy and vendor database on a day-to-day basis.
 
This role would suit someone who is willing to work hard in a faced paced and thriving environment and ultimately looking to change the world for the better. Someone who delivers on excellence and has a unique skill set that focuses on innovative tech solutions.
 
The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent and relevant industrial experience in procurement
  • Experience in order placement and expediting
  • Experience using MRP/ERP
  • Can give examples of personal creativity, innovation and problem solving
  • Driven, focused, impatient for success: experience designing and analysing.
  • Basic knowledge of law and contracting in procurement
  • Demonstrated capability to place, expedite and receive purchase orders.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and organise multiple work streams.

 
Responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, on concurrent work streams; activities are followed through to completion; meets deadlines and ensures people get what they need when they need it
  • Displays enthusiasm and creativity in meeting the needs and expectations of internal customers and encourages this behaviour in colleagues
  • Provides internal customers with the complete data they need, on or before the agreed deadline, and is acutely aware of how their actions impact directly upon different customers
  • Quick to reprioritise and adapt pace of work around changing customer demands and requests, regularly communicating updates to Line Manager and minimising time spent on unnecessary activities
  • Develops a way of working that suits the needs of the individual customer and focussed around doing things properly ensure high standards of quality and safety are delivered
  • Highly visible and approachable, easy to talk to and keen to speak with colleagues about what they are working on, listening carefully
