The world needs to rapidly increase battery cell production to enable a faster transition to zero emission Technologies.  By being amongst the first to produce silicon material for battery cells, we can reduce the size of this challenge – putting a net zero future within closer reach for multiple industries. Today, Nexeon is home to two of the most exciting silicon anode materials.  As we transition away from research and into product development, a new way of working must be adopted; one that prioritizes customers and their requirements. Combined with the recent investment from energy and chemical giant SKC, it is a very exciting time for the company and one filled with enormous opportunity, but it will only be realized if we strengthen and add to our incredible team of world class experts in order to deliver our ambitions plans!
The Position:

  • Execute Process Development tasks within the process development roadmap
  • Execute data analysis and compile reports
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, on concurrent work streams; activities are followed through to completion; meets deadlines and ensures people get what they need when they need it
  • Displays enthusiasm and creativity in meeting the needs and expectations of internal customers and encourages this behaviour in colleagues
  • Provides internal customers with the complete data they need, on or before the agreed deadline, and is acutely aware of how their actions impact directly upon different customers
  • Quick to reprioritise and adapt pace of work around changing customer demands and requests, regularly communicating updates to Line Manager and minimising time spent on unnecessary activities
  • Takes accountability for sorting things out and problem solving
  • Develops a way of working that suits the needs of the individual customer and focussed around doing things properly ensure high standards of quality and safety are delivered
  • Highly visible and approachable, easy to talk to and keen to speak with colleagues about what they are working on, listening carefully

What we are looking for:

  • Detailed knowledge of Chemical/Process Engineering in the area of Material Science or solid (powder) processing
  • Use of standard engineering software e.g. AutoCAD, Data mining software, Alterrix
  • Knowledge of common standards e.g. Pressure vessel regulations
  • Deep knowledge to understand of Chemical reaction and capability to translate in an industrial process (upscale).
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and organise multiple work streams
  • Master or PhD (Chemical, Process Engineering), or equivalent experience in an industrial environment
  • Work experience in area Anode Materials, Silicone metal, Carbon matrix, Silanes
  • Working experience with fluidized bets
  • Experience in production and/or process development
  • Experience in production and/or process development
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations within UK
  • Can give examples of personal creativity, innovation and problem solving
