Mechanical Engineer

One of our extremely innovative and forward-thinking clients in Cambridge are seeking a Mechanical Engineer.

The successful applicant will join the engineering department, and will interface with experts in biochemistry, synthetic biology, electronics, mechanics & software.

This role represents an opportunity to help shape the emerging R&D team, and to be specifically involved in the development of this instrument.

Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Engineer

·        To provide mechanical engineering designs relating to the sub-system and instrument development teams.

·        Sourcing of commercially available off the shelf components and utilising the in-house workshop facility.

·        Effective technical communication with other areas of the business, it’s a very interdisciplinary team.

·        Constructing, testing and improving designs by embracing sound experimental methods.

Key Requirements: Mechanical Engineer

·        Degree educated or qualified by experience.

·        Minimum of two-years industrial experience, preferably with SolidWorks.

·        Previous experience in performing tests and validation of prototyped systems.

·        First-hand knowledge of design for manufacturing and assembly.
